that size dust particle.
ECC Laboratories employ the largest state-of-the-art equipment
measuring particles by volume, weight, surface area and actual
population counts into 256 different micron sizes down to
0.2 microns. Graphs both accumulative and differentials are
computed.
Did you know that 1,000,000 particles at 0.5 Micron
equals the same weight as just 1 particle at 50 Micron?
Fine particles at 0.2 to 1.0 Micron can leak through and cause
emission problems, and severe ID and fan damage. Particles
not fully penetrating can lead to bag binding and high pressure
differentials.
Filtration of airbourne particles by a filter fabric employs
the science of contact. The particle must make contact with
a target.
The initial contact positions are the fibers as a particle
contacts a fiber and is collected, it now becomes a target.
This process continues with increased targets and increased
efficiency.
Particle size ranges from 0.2 to 1.0 Micron are the least
influenced for contact and are the highest degree of difficulty
in filter fabric collection. |
